Parasite Control in Dogs
1. We carry Iverhart as our heartworm medication. This is a generic version that is equally effective. The main difference is a different flavored tablet. Using Iverhart versus Heartgard will save you about $17 a year per pet.
2. A flea and tick product is now available called Vectra 3D. This topical parasite treatment will target adult fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae, ticks mosquitoes, biting flies, mites and lice.
We feel the applicator tube is easier to use with this product. There are several good products on the market but this is the most comprehensive product currently available. The cost is about the same per month. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends all pets be regularly for fleas and ticks because they can carry diseases that are transmissible to humans.
Pets that are protected with both Iverhart and Vectra 3D will be less likely to contract diseases from fleas and ticks and less likely to pass gastronintestinal parasites to children.
Ticks carry Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Lymes Disease, adn Ehrloichiosis. Fleas carry tapeworms and bacterial diseases.
Don't let your pet or children be at risk. Talk to us about proper parasite control.
